The Rain Water Hog has an unusual name but its unique design makes it a "compact" rainwater harvesting system with a lot  of versitility. Rain water barrels have been in use since the beginnings of Americian History, but now the Austrailians have taken the whole concept to a new level. More than 100 years ago barrels were the standard shipping containers and they had been for hundreds of years.  They were displaced by the cardboard box because rectangular containers stack with no wasted space while barrels being round, while they stacked well, had a great deal of wasted space between them.  This is the same advantage that the Rain Water HOG has over the traditional rain water barrel.  Each HOG holds 50 gallons and the fact that they can be installed in compact spaces and be stacked makes them an ideal product for someone who wants to go "off the grid".  By adding water filtration to the system you could supply all of your water needs from rainwater.
